Fulfilling its core commitment to look after the welfare of its local legislators, the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) personally traveled to General Santos City to distribute the PCL National Calamity Assistance Benefit to our councilor-members who were on the ground and directly affected by the recent earthquake.
This swift mobilization and response was made possible under the leadership and guidance of National Chairman Atty. Raul Corro, National President Benjamin "Benjie" Abalos lll, and Executive Director Dr. Helario "Larry" Caminero, ensuring that the league's support system is felt directly by our local officials when it matters most.
The delegation witnessed firsthand the heavy infrastructure damage sustained by commercial and public structures in the city, underscoring the urgent need for timely recovery and support.
During the visit, national officials held a joint consultative and coordination meeting—joined by PCL Region XII Regional Council Chair Atty. Lou Bertini B. Benjamin, PCL General Santos City Chapter President Dominador Lagare Jr., PCL Sarangani Chapter President Ernesto Alegario Jr., and PCL-SAR Support Staff Renato Q. Catedral—to safely hand over the financial assistance, ensuring that immediate aid reaches those who serve on the frontlines of their communities.
