PCL Oriental Mindoro Elects New Set of Officers, Pledges Focus on Tourism and Fisherfolk Welfare

A new era of leadership has begun for the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Oriental Mindoro Chapter!

In a successful and unified election held during the Chapter General Assembly at the Villa Jhoana Resort in Calapan City, the following councilors were elected to lead the League for the term 2025-2028:

President: Hon. Marion Francis “MFD” D. Marcos (Calapan City)

Executive Vice President: Hon. Wilfredo “Will” S. Polillo (Naujan)

Vice President for Internal Affairs: Hon. Marlon G. Malvar (Pinamalayan)

Vice President for External Affairs: Hon. Danilo “Danny” A. Manalo (Gloria)

The election, overseen by PCL National Auditor Hon. Florante C. Aguila, marks a commitment to proactive legislation and district empowerment.

Aligned with this new leadership, the Chapter announces its championing of a new legislative priority: the "Tourism and Coastal Livelihoods Enhancement Ordinance". This initiative aims to:

Formalize support for community-based tourism projects in key areas like Puerto Galera, Bulalacao, and Mansalay.

Integrate sustainable livelihood programs for fisherfolk affected by seasonal fishing bans and tourism zoning.

Strengthen local ordinances for marine protection to safeguard both the environment and tourism assets.

The newly elected President, Hon. Marion Francis D. Marcos, stated, “Our unified slate is ready to work. Our focus will be on legislation that creates tangible benefits—boosting our tourism economy while ensuring our fisherfolk are supported and resilient.”

Let us rally behind our new officers as they guide the PCL Oriental Mindoro Chapter towards a more collaborative, progressive, and service-oriented term.

Congratulations and Mabuhay!
